Students are always on the look for brain boosters, the stuffs that can help them improve their memory or make them alert and smart. But if you have been reading this blog for a while, you will notice that most brain boosters that were featured here are just food items that can be found in your kitchen or can be readily bought in any supermarket.
And I found another food ingredient that can help spice up your brain to perform better: the sage and curry. Oops, I knew that many of us does not like the taste of curry and sage but, you know, it is still worthy to be informed that these herb/spice can do some wonder to our brain.
Sage which is often used as herb in our food is known to improve the chemical levels in our brain that are responsible in passing on the messages to and from our brain. Sage can also aid in breaking down the enzyme acetylcholine that is needed for the brain to work properly and improve the brain performance on memory tasks.
On the other hand, curry, the one used by our mother in making chicken curry or beef curry contains turmeric which is a good source of curcumin, a chemical that aids in the removal of plaque in our brain. So even if you do not like the taste of food which contains sage or curry, it won’t hurt trying out these dishes once in a while because they are actually doing something good to our brain.
