The Outlining Method Of Taking Notes

The outlining method is probably one of the easiest ways of taking down notes during lecture. It is the best approach when the lecturer present a very organize topic.

Under the outlining method, students usually put the major points on the left side of the paper and then succeeding points or related facts are indented on the right side. You don’t need to use numbers or letter using this method because the major and minor points were already identified through indentions.

However, this method of note taking is not applicable for science and math lectures because this system may not show relationships by sequence. And if the lecturer is too fast, this method may not allow you to grasp the essence of the lecture.
